tampon troubles

I've honestly tried so many times and maybe because it's just tight I haven't ever had sex so of course so. But that's abnormal I feel like for a tampon to hurt that bad, one time I had to lay down and I started blacking out because it was so much uncomfortable and pain wise. Any ideas ?
