how many diapers and what size?

I'm starting to collect diapers because it's the only baby thing I can buy at the moment. (We don know the gender and have an agreement to wait until January for big stuff.) I'm just wondering how many is too many in a size? If it matters I was an 8lbs baby and he was a 12 pounder, so I figure we are likely to have a chunky a monkey.

Just put money on gift cards till you know exactly what size you will need ...my husband was 10lb when he was born and I was 8lbs so we got a bunch of size one and bigger...well my LO came out 4days before her due date at 5lbs 15 oz and only fit premie diapers for the first 3 weeks so before we could even go home we had to stop and pick up some diapers for her

Baby was 7lb, 12 ounces.  So far he's went through one large box of newborn. Once he finished this large box of 1, we will be moving to 2.

I would start with one of the big boxes of newborn diapers and then get sizes up. But maybe set money aside for more newborn I bought 5 or 6 small packs of newborn diapers and I had to buy a box now .. I only bough small packs to try different brands and thinking he was going to be about a 8 pound baby like his father and I was .. but the tiny guy was 6 pounds 11 ounces 20 inches long but barely fit anything we had in the size newborn and he's 3 weeks old now

I would start with two boxes of newborns if you're expecting a big baby. I think we went through 3 larger boxes of newborns, but our little guy was 7lbs 4oz.
