pcos and BC?

My dr. prescribed BC for my pcos and I'm no bearded lady, just a lady with painful periods and a weight issue... I just wonder... Will I ever get pregnant? I want to... And soon too but between the recent diagnosis and the internet, I'm scared :(

I think thats counter intuitive. Doctors sell bc because they get paid to do so. It might help regulate your hormones for awhile but will screw up your body, esp the linger you take it. I would look for some alternative medecine. Check out a paleo diet as well as supplements for your specific condition.

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 years old. At that time I was told the cysts were soooo bad I would never be able to have kids (I was 15 at the time so I didn't think anything of it really) he put me on birth control at that time just to regulate my periods. When I was 17 I got pregnant while taking my birth control (I was on the patch). My husband and I started trying again for another baby off and on when our daughter turned 2 it took 5 years and another dr telling me I would never be able to have kids but we had another little one. At the 6 weeks postpartum checkup I got put on the pill and 3 months later we were pregnant again. I am currently 16 weeks... it can happen just don't lose hope it may take a while but can happen

I was in the same boat. It took us a little longer, almost 18 months total, to get pregnant, but we did! We actually conceived the weekend after our doctor said we would probably have to do IVF. 
I was on BC before our wedding because we wanted to wait until after to try, and it definitely helped regulate my cycle, which stayed for a few months after I stopped taking the pill, but it went right back to irregular cycles about 3 months after.

I am 23 and was diagnosed with PCOS at the beginning of this year. My doctor said to stay on bc to help it until I was ready to start TTC. I was so scared I wouldn't be able to get pregnant when I found at that I had PCOS as well and read things online about it. I am in my 3rd month TTC right now and have a lot more hope and think it won't be a problem. The first time is aw my OBGYN about it he also said it shouldn't be too hard to get pregnant, we just need some help to make it happen. Feel free to ask any questions
