opk- do you go by the first positive or by the darkest line?

Hi all,

Do you guys (rather girls) think I should go by my first positive on a digital opk test or by the darkest line on a cheapie? 
The digital was positive 2 days ago but the line was not as dark as it is today on a cheapie (actually, it is now darker than than the test line)?

I'm just very confused because on Wednesday when I got my first positive it was a flashing happy face indicating high. 
That same day I had an ultrasound and the fertility Doc said my egg was an irregular shape indicating ovulation either just occurred or in the process. I had egg white fluid too.

But only now I'm getting a solid happy face and a stronger than test line 2nd line.

If Doc basically confirmed I was already ovulating how is it possible that I'm only getting peak now? I also don't have any other signs of ovulation (cervical fluid and position).

I guess I will need to ask her on Monday.

By the way, I also had a temp spike since Thursday but it was not a strong one rather a "slow rise" chart.
