Father of child not on birth certificate?

Ok so I'm posting this for my friend. She had her daughter back in July. The deadbeat baby daddy is MIA. She isn't working because she can't afford daycare. Her brother and mom are helping her out as of right now. She is in school with 1 semester left and paying out of pocket. Now she is finally considering putting the deadbeat on child support. She just told me how the baby daddy isn't listed on the birth certificate, but it is his. Will this make her case difficult against him? He already has a kid, but he is a bum and will do something petty by saying it isn't his. Btw she gave her daughter her last name too.

In court, they always do a paternity test so she should be fine.

That dose Not matter if he is not on the birth certificate or what last name she gave the baby the court will do a paternity test and when it come back his there will be no getting out of child support

Court dose paternity test if it is his child it dose not matter what the childs last name is, but by conferming that he gets rights to that child now and he can even patition to get that childs name to be changed, so hopefully your friend is in good terms with him for the sake for that child, if not i wold not even contact him even if im struggling its not worth it

She would have to go through a court and have paternity established and then once its determined he is the father they will amend the certificate and put his name on it if shes getting wic or food stamps they will go after him for child support even if she doesnt want it also if hes on the certificate he can be awarded visitation and will have parental rights it may be limited rights but he will still have them

When she files for child support they will order a paternity test. If he declines it the case will be put to default and 9 times out of 10 when it's set to default and you have your hearing the father is put on child support because if you aren't the dad, why not take it to prove it? Although in some cases, if he declines the paternity test he has the option to sign an affidavit stating he is the father to proceed with the case. Whether or not his name is on the birth certificate or attached to the child is not the deciding factor.

They will probably do a DNA test and out him on the birth certificate but make sure she knows that means he will get rights to the child in less she can prove he is a unfit father. I left my oldest sons father of his and struggled but figured it out on my own and it was the best choice I ever made. They have places that she can go threw that help pay for daycare just like Medicaid and section 8 and foodstamps that help the struggling parents.

And you tell them all you know and they will mail him all the court information
If he want to say its not him the state will do a dna test
I dont know all the details seeing ive never did it but this is what i know hopes it helps
