Pumping

This is truly sad. I pumped both of my boobs for 10 minutes each an' only got 1 oz. It's bin a week since I had my baby an' haven't pumped until today. At what point am I supposed to produce a lot of milk? I thought it was the 5th day.

Are you nursing? You don't want to create an oversupply so be careful if pumping with LO so young. I only feed on one side during nursing sessions so sometimes I pump off the other side if I am engorged. If you are looking to build a stash, I recommend a haakaa silicone pump. I got mine from Amazon. I suction it onto the side I'm not nursing on and it catches what would be lost during a let down. Usually at least an ounce for me!

1oz is fine!! The more you pump/BF the more milk your body will make. Give it time. Babies tummy is so small at this point, 1oz is enough.

Your baby shiuld only be eating around an ounce and some change right now. Wait until the engorgement hits and you get 10oz a pump. You'll wish you had a break lol

Trust your body. Pumping isnt an indication of supply. If she is getting enough wet diapers and gaining weight then she is getting enough. Dont forget they do cluster feed some days and thats why they are at the boob more often

This is totally normal. I was getting that amount in my first few days. I am now 4 weeks postpartum and producing about 3 ounces. Don't forget that what you pump is not the same as what your baby gets when he or she is directly breastfeeding. there is a science to breastfeeding and producing milk. The only way to increase your milk supply is to keep the baby on your boob. It will be exhausting but each time your baby is on you, her or she will send messages to  your body to continue to make more milk. If you are worried there are also things such as fenugreek pills and mother's tea that apparently increase your supply. Finally don't forget that your baby's stomach is pretty small right now and so her or she does not need large amounts.

You have to pump for the 5 days also. You'll only get colostrum most likely but it's building up your milk supply. I pump about 15ml from each boob I'm 6days pp.  I got 40 total earlier. But I am strictly pumping because I have inverted nipples and he has trouble with the shield.

I've been pumping 3 weeks now and I only get 2-3 oz all together try eating oatmeal and drinking water/Gatorade. Good luck 🍀 also mothers milk tea if you can handle the taste I can't but everyone tells me it works wonders.

I easily pump 5 Oz each breast if I'm engorged I can do about 8oz each. Maybe you're not pumping often, are you also nursing?
