Tylenol & vaccines?

Should I give my baby some Tylenol before or after her shots for maximum effect? Any other suggestions on what to do for her after she gets her shots to calm down?

Neither. I only gave it if she got a fever and she never did. If it's her first set giving it can actually mask a reaction to a vaccine. I'd wait and see if she really needs it.

Neither. I don't believe in giving my baby medicine for no reason, and she never reacted badly enough to the shots to need anything. No fever, just some mild soreness in her legs that was gone by the next day. I would definitely not give Tylenol beforehand. Wait until you see if it's needed. And ask your doctor about proper dosage as well.

I will only give her Tylenol if they seem to bother her... but hoping lots of nursing will do the trick!

I only give it to her s small dose if she starts to get warm and fussy. If you breastfeed, do that. Soon as your done, stick baby on the boob and baby will be fine.

The wait is 4 hours after vaccines are administered to see if any reactions show up. If you notice any fever you can give medicine. Pain and soreness is normal, it's up to you to decide if you want to give your baby medicine for that.

My dr told me I could give my LO Tylenol 30 mins before the vaccine so it could kick in, but I really would rather not give him medicine if he doesn't need it, so I'm just going to wait until after.

We've had 2 month and 4 month shots. Our little one tolerated them fine and did not need Tylenol. If I were you, I'd wait until she gets shots and see how she feels. Our little one was just a little cranky afterwards, no real pain or fever.

As long as my kiddo isn't sick I give him a dose about 30 minutes to an hour before vaccines and then a few hours later I alternate with Motrin, then Tylenol at least one cycle.
