Birth story

Sabrina
Pretty late, but here's my birth story. So on October 13th I woke up at 3 am with contractions. No big deal they were 8 minutes apart but not really painful. My husband insisted I didn't go to work. But I'm stubborn and went away. I made it through the whole day at work with contractions 5 minutes apart but again they weren't terribly painful. After work to put my husbands mind at ease (he was terrified that I would wait too long to go to the hospital that I'd have the baby in the living room 😂😂) I went to labor and delivery before going home. I got checked. I was only 1 cm, but I was still having contractions. They said I could stay to continue to be monitored but I left because I'd rather labor in the comfort of my home. I got home, my contractions got a little bit worse. But I ate dinner and went to bed about 8:30 pm. At around midnight so now technically October 14th, I wake up because my husband gets out of bed to go sleep on the couch. I apparently was moaning through every contraction in my sleep lol so I was driving him nuts. But I still slept through them. I woke again at 3 am and now my contractions are painful. But I am still very stubborn so my husband kept telling me uh I think we need to go to the hospital and I'm like no really I'm fine, I'm still walking and talking through them I'm good. But finally about 5:30 am I am having a hard time standing through them and now instead of 5 minutes apart. They are closer to 3. About every 3-5 minutes I'd say. So I tell him at 6am okay we should go to the hospital. He showers fast and I grab last minute things and we are off to the hospital, which is about an hour away. The whole time he's terrified we are going to have the baby on the side of the road 😂. We get to the hospital at 7am, I get checked and I'm 8cm. Get the epidural( a little piece of heaven😍) and it slows down my contractions. I dilated to 10 at noon, so the doctor said I could start pushing. I couldn't feel my contractions and they weren't strong/long so they give me pitocin to help. Still wasn't enough so they kept turning it up. Now I can feel every contraction and I'm super uncomfortable. By now it's been a shift change so I get a new set of nurses. Who try all sorts of crazy positions to try to get the baby out. But turns out, the baby is face up and she's at an angle so every push is not really doing much. However all the crazy positions I got put in helped her turn. Now it's about 3:30 pm. I'm exhausted, and still no baby. My doctor comes in to assist because it's taking too long. And finally at 4:50pm my baby girl was born and I was so glad it was over because I was starving lol she was 8lb 8oz, 18 3/4 inches long.
