Dr's appt to discuss TTC- question for you ladies

So I made an appt with my OB to discuss my SO & I TTC. I've been on BC for 12 yrs. I was told that some doctors will test for fertility and possible prescribe something to help improve our odds since I've been on BC so long. Anyone ever heard of this? I'm TTC for baby#1 so I'm still learning. We have been TTC for 6 months. What should I ask my doctor/ test to run?
