Any babies born at 26 weeks?!
Ok, so I'm exactly 26 weeks today with Di/Di twins (one boy one girl). I saw my Obstetrician today, as I had a scan yesterday that showed a very large amount of amniotic fluid around one baby. She said my case was quite severe, and quite unusual for this stage of pregnancy. I have gestational diabetes, which can be a cause of polyhydramnios, but my blood sugars have been very stable with dietary control. I'm currently in the maternity unit after having my first steroid injection to develop my babies lungs, however these steroids have raised my blood sugar (which will in return raise my amniotic fluid!). They have told me that there is a risk that if I get too much fluid, my waters will break, and my babies may have to be delivered.
Has anyone else experienced a situation like this, or has anyone else delivered their baby/babies at 26 weeks?! I need to hear some happy stories to keep me going!
