Any other moms use a nipple shield?

My baby had problems latching while in the hospital so I asked for a shield to help her feed since she demanded to be breast fed lol. She's 9 days old now and sometimes I really hate the shield, but it helps her eat and fatten her up. I've been trying to figure out a way to not have to rely on it every feeding, but my boobies just won't cooperate. So I'm probably sticking with it until she's done breast feeding.
