question ladies and gentlemen

My baby father left me when I got pregnant and hasn't been there for nothing... I have a boyfriend now he's a great guy just have a question he want to be on the birth certificate when the baby is born because he been there for everything...  am so lost idk what to do... so I let him be there for my son even though he not the baby's father...
