How do I tell my mom I don't want her in the birthing room?

I'm going through my pregnancy alone, my mom has expressed that she wants to be with me when I give birth. She has a lot of psych issues and honestly her presence a lot of times just stresses me out. I love her to death but when I'm delivering I don't really want the added stress of her being there. How are y'all dealing with who you're letting in the room and who you're not?? Please no judging.

I'm in the same boat, I love my mom but she is a bit crazy and frequently triggers my anxiety. I told her I only want it to be me and my Husband for the birth and my hospital honors the golden hour after birth. She told me 'well your going to have to swallow this pill, I will be in that room and I will be the first to hold my grandbaby' that made me snap... I told her she will not be in the delivery room, and that she needed to swallow that pill. I will be informing the nursing staff of my wishes as well.

My husband will be there for this baby as I am having a section  With my first I wanted my husband , my mom and my mother in law but I had a emerg section so only my husband could. 
Honestly my mother and mother in law drives me mental but when it came down to making me feel better while in pain they forgot about themselves and worried about me and they were fantastic! You may feel you don't want her there but Hun you will be some support person, you can tell her what you expect out of her in the room and I bet she will just focus on you and do what makes you happy!

My mom was upset. I told them they were welcome to come while I was laboring but when it was time to push and for up to 2 hrs after, it would just be me and my husband. I told her she wasn't there when the baby was made, she didn't need to see it come out.

If you tell your doc/nurse you don't want her in there, they won't let her in. Trust me.

Just tell her, my mom is emotional and wants to be there too and I just had to tell her my SO was uncomfortable with it lol o told her she can come in as soon as that baby is out hahaha

My husband is having an affair so I'll be delivering baby #3 alone my mom passed away last may so I don't have a chance to have her their but I wish I did.

You don't need to. Just tell the nurses in your birthing plan. :)

No judgement at all!!! I feel the same way. My mom, however, is an addict. She hardly ever answers her phone, she never calls to see how I'm doing... she's seen me maybe 3 times since being pregnant. I am going to have to tell her after the baby is born that she is not allowed around the baby... period (unless a drug test proves she is clean)!! Yes, it has resorted to that. I will not allow someone who is using to b around my child... whether it's my own mother or not. It's a hard pill to swollow for me but I know it's the right thing and God will give me the strength to tell her when the time comes. As far as labor goes... I haven't told her she's not allowed in the room, my plan is to just not call her until after the baby is born and we've had our family time first. Frankly, I'm debating whether I should call her at all. I don't want to hurt her feelings but I would just prefer not to see her. Very very hard situation considering she is my mother.
