what foods do you avoid when breastfeeding?

JK
I just read that certain teas could diminish your milk supply? Didn't even think about that??
I'm a big tea drinker tho been keeping it to just 1-2 small cups a day with caffeine. I also been avoiding heavy creamy and cheesy dishes. I already have a sensitivity to dairy products so Im worried my LO might too. Also fried processed foods because my stomach can't handle it.
I read that broccoli, asparagus have too much fiber so cause baby to be gassy so avoiding certain fiber rich veggies. Still eating other greens tho.
What about fish? I've had lots of sushi but should we still be avoiding certain kinds, prob okay in moderation.
Anything else that would be good to know?

You dont really have to change your diet at all unless your baby reacts.

I've heard mint can reduce supply so lots of women avoid it. I think it's mainly best to eat whatever you want ( in moderation ) and just pay attention to any trends in baby. I've heard people say gas isn't transferred to babies but each time I've tried eating beans, cabbage or brussel sprouts baby has ended up screaming with gas pain, so I have cut those out completely

The gassy foods is a myth. If you're sensitive to them by all means avoid it..but they won't hurt baby. Your body filters the gas out, it doesn't affect your milk.

I just tried to stay away or limit the things I knew would bother me. I cut back on my iced tea so I only drink water and apple juice(stuff without all the sugar). With my little one I did find out the hard way that cabbage made her extremely gassy. Other than that eat what you did before.

I don't avoid any foods really, I've always avoided artificial foods- stick with organic non-gmo stuff. I do, however make it a point to eat a lot of oatmeal. Gets the girls full of milk!

I'm avoiding caffeine only, I'm already dairy free. The one time I did drink tea that had caffeine in it I felt like I wasn't able to pump as much out.
