I'm going to share our birth story.

We got to the hospital at midnight Thursday morning, I went through the normal procedures. We were told that they weren't going to start pitocin until 4 but we were actually able to start by 2:30. At 2:30 I was 3cm & 70% effaced. Immediately pitocin started doing its job. I had already been contracting on my own but they started coming closer together and intensifying. At 5:30ish I wanted to be checked again because they were coming every 3-4 min and I felt like I needed to use the bathroom. I was checked, cervix was still posterior and I was a stretchy 3. They had up'd the pitocin and I think I was up to a 10. At 6:51 I posted to snapchat, saying contractions sucked and I was hungry. 7am I looked at Matt and said "are you just going to sit over there or what" haha. He came over to the side of the bed and started holding my hand and rubbing my head. I laid like this for a little while. About 7:30 the new nurse came in and I asked if I could maybe go into a different position to help things. We tried the princess position. I sat like this for a little while. She came in at 8 to check on me. Contractions were about every 2-3 so I got into the "hands and knees" position. As soon as I got into that position things changed. My contractions hit 1 1/2 to 2 min. Dr. Payne came in about 8:05-8:10, she said I could get a shot of Demerol if I wanted, I didn't have to make myself be in this much pain. She said I'll get the nurse and be back to break your water. Literally as soon as she left the room, my belly jarred, it felt like a balloon popped and my support team thought the bed popped. No they heard my water break. I started throwing a fit, I needed to pee. I needed to get up. They kept telling me, to just go. We can clean it up. I said I think I did pee. Michelle looked and said no I'm positive that was your water. When I realized my water had in fact broke on it own, the pain got very bad, very fast. I started yelling & screaming. I needed the nurse then, I wanted Demerol. She walked in, she could hear me from the hall. I said I want a pain reliever shot, "let's see what's going on first" "well your water has broken and your a 7" 8:21 am. "I'm going to advise you not to have a Demerol, your so far that it may not work and could hurt the baby" I flipped out. I started yelling, I'm burning, I'm on fire. "Lets see what going on" She checks me and starts clicking the call buttons. "I need a table, I need the doctor" no one was responding and she kept clicking a button in her pocket. Meanwhile I am screaming I need to push and trying to climb inside of Matt. The nurse is actually holding baby's head so I can't push. First instinct is to get her hand out. I'm holding onto matt and climbing up the bed while screaming bloody murder. Think exorcism. 😳 My nurse is amazing btw, I was yelling at her telling her I need him out, it's on fire. My mom and aunt are crying. Matt is telling me to breathe, on the verge of passing out. My mom calmly gets in my face and tells me like it is. Stop or you're going to hurt the baby. I stopped and tried to breathe. Finally the doctor walks in, doesn't realize baby is crowning I started yelling, he's coming. I've got to push. I pushed twice. He was out. My aunt Lori walks in as baby's head is crowning. He was born at 8:27. I went from a 7 to baby born in 5-6 min. Had I not had to wait on the doctor, it would've been less than 5. Seriously the most painful, scary thing I have ever been through. Baby got to do skin on skin immediately. He automatically found the "goods", after skin on skin. I nursed him for 45 min. After nursing, he was weighed and bathed. This hospital and this staff is amazing. Dr. Payne is amazing! I am so blessed, my support team was in a ride for their life and I'm sorry I scared them. I scared myself. It was an out of body experience for sure. Sorry this is so long. But I wanted to document it. While it's still fresh. My birth photographer wasn't able to make it. But who would've thought this would have happened. I'm also kind of glad, because I didn't want to see myself like that. My husband is amazing, he's a trooper and said if we do go for a 4th, he's better prepared. Moms, who want to go natural. No reading or birth videos will prepare you for it. Mine was so intense and hit so fast, I had no clue how to react. So I responded the only way I could, by crying and screaming. My baby is here and he's healthy. He's perfect in my eyes and I am so blessed. Recovery is amazing. I feel great! Sorry for the long read. But it's worth it!
