Heart Rate???

Question

So I was playing around with my at home Doppler and the heart rate was only measuring at 120 at 10 weeks. Anyone else have a low heart rate like that? It was 138 at my first ultrasound at 7 weeks. I'm a little worried. Have a doc appointment tomorrow.

That's probably your heart rate or the placenta even. Being 10 weeks, the Doppler probably won't give you a very accurate heart rate for baby since most Dopplers that people buy offline aren't that great. I'm 16 weeks and mine still has a hard time actually giving me a number, I can find my heart rate perfectly, and I can always find the baby but when if comes to actually giving me a reading for baby it just takes its time and gives me numbers all over the place. With you being so early, I'd be looking to hear the baby kick the probe instead of the heart rate for another week or two at least.

UPDATE: apparently even a nurse has a hard time finding her own baby's heart rate. Went to the doc today and it was 166. I was listening to my own the other day.

Are you sure you're hearing the heart? Many women using home Doppler miss the heart all together and end up hearing something else like the placenta.
