EARLY ULTRASOUND.... no yolk sac?

Question

So went in today.... based on the first day of my last period ( oct. 10th ) I'm five weeks. Realistically I'm like 3 weeks. ULTRASOUND showed a uteran sac but no yolk sac. And no baby. My Dr. Said to come back next week, to see if maybe it's just too early and if something shows up next week? Does anyone have any thing similar or experience?  Kind of freaking out.

HEY EVERYONE. Here is an update.... went back today and in one week everything was visible. Where last week there was nothing and seemingly hope was deminished, now today all is well. 6 weeks and 1 day. Due date is July 17th the day after my birthday. Tip to new moms... DONT GET AN ULTRASOUND BEFORE 6 weeks

How do u guys get appointments that early? I call the dr and they automatically schedule me for 8 weeks. I don't go til dec 1!

Reading this makes me feel so much better thanks for everyone sharing their stories. I've got my next scan in 3 days. I feel like I might vomit any time so fingers crossed. Fingers crossed for us all :)

This exact thing happened to me it wasn't until the third week and third ultrasound were they able to see a yolk sac and was originally told I was going to have a blighted ovum and wanted me to start the DNC process which I refused cause I knew I was just to early.  So last wed they just found the yolk sac and I go back tomorrow hoping to see a baby or some type of fetal pole.  I can't stress enough just try and wait it out.

So I went today and had an appropriately grown baby with a good fetal heart rate for 6+4 after only seeing a gestational sac at (what I now know) was 5+4. Good luck to everyone! Beware the early scans.. they are unnecessary stress xx

My last af was also 10/10 and the app says 5 weeks and I also think I am only 3!i haven't gone to get a sono yet even if you were 5 weeks it is most likely too early to see anything so don't stress it

Hey to everyone who has been keeping up this post. Today I started having pretty bad cramping and lower back pain. Laying down for a while, drinking water, took my vitamins, any other suggestions? so scared that between this and the ultrasound that I may be miscarrying. :/

Same thing happened to me. By my guesses at ovulation (definitely not accurate but pain + OPK) I thought I was 5+4, but LMP dates were 5+3. Had USS for pain to rule out ectopic and only gestational sac seen no yolk sac or embryo :( repeating on Friday. HCG was more than fine.. fingers crossed. I think it was just too early and early scans are evil for causing anxiety! Good luck x

The same this just happened to me. I'm 5 weeks and 3 days, and I was kind of freaking out before reading this, makes me hopeful again, I have an appointment this week to check my levels and do another sonogram. they saw nothing on mine saturday, internally and externally.  But just said I was early. So fingers crossed my levels go up as supposed to.
