Tried baby yogurt or milk?

My lo is 7 months this week and have been looking at foods to try. My husband purchased the shelf stable yogurt they sell in the baby food aisle but I was told infants under one year old shouldn't have milk or products containing milk until after one year old. Has anyone else tried this with their lo or have a pediatrician ok the yogurt?

Wow, thank you all. I had no idea about this and always seek advice here. Hearing about you all offering the yogurt and berries and even cottage cheese shows me how behind we are. My lo only takes puree forms of food and any kind of texture or chunk will make her vomit. She still doesn't have any teeth either so I haven't tried her with small pieces of fruits or veggies or anything else for that matter. Feel like I am really slacking🙁

Both my boys have had that yogurt with no issues. One is 19 months and the other is 7 months. They've also have had Greek yogurt, whole fat yogurt, cottage cheese

I let my 6 month old have dairy such as yoghurt, cheese and milk mixed in with foods as per recipes but not on their own with the exception of natural yoghurt (full fat as it's less sugar) which he has for breakfasts with berries.

My son has had the yogurt drops and has had a little bit of whole cows milk and a little bit of cheese. His pediatrician said that he can have a little bit of dairy i.e. Milk, yogurt, cheese at a time. The specific rule he gave me about the cows milk is it can't get anywhere close to replacing a majority of his breast milk or formula intake.
