Marginal cord insertion
So, I went in for my anatomy scan last week and all is well! - healthy baby and all But the doctor mentioned that the cord is connected to the placenta on the edge, which isn't a terrible thing but is something to monitor a bit more closely. I guess in these cases, although not super common, this can affect the baby's nutrient supply and could cause baby to not gain weight as expected. In addition, sounds like during labor this is something the Drs want to know to make sure nothing is left behind to cause infection for mama...
Anyone in the same boat or had/heard of this before?
