single dad baby shower?

Do you think single dads should have a baby shower?

Like for example if a father knows for a fact he will only get his child some days of the week from the mother, should he get a baby shower too?

If he has sole custody or something like that then I would say absolutely!!! But if he is sharing custody with the mother then no, I dont think its necessary.

Hell yeah! Why shouldn't you? You are celebrating the birth of child! I know baby showers are usually a girly thing but if your a single dad why shouldn't you?

Yes! He's proud of being a dad and I say let him celebrate. And by that definition then the mom is single too, I don't see a difference between her getting a shower either.

I think it's an excellent idea. My SO has joint custody with the mother of his kids and she took all the stuff from the baby shower even though his family had given the majority of the gifts and the gifts are supposed to be for the kids. He had to go out and buy everything which wasn't fair.

I'm not sure about this. But the baby shower is supposed to be about the baby, so I guess so 
I've just always known baby showers as a girl thing

If he needs things or wants to celebrate the birth of his child I would suggest a meet the baby party. It's basically the exact same as a baby shower only instead of a pregnant mom there's a baby 😄

I dont get why everyone assumes one parent has custody of the child. Some have joint custody meaning they share time equally. I dont get why that would even matter though if he is in the childs life he would still need things in his home to take care of the child. If the guy isnt with the mother i think its totally acceptable to have his own baby shower for him and his side of the family to celebrate the baby. His side of the family shouldnt have to miss out just because things didn't work out between them.

No, cuz baby showers are thrown when the woman is pregnant. If there was already a baby shower why should another one be thrown? Makes no sense!
