Anybody else using evening primrose oil?

My midwife told me to start taking the gel capsules orally at 34 weeks and insert them vaginally by 36 weeks to help soften the cervix and hopefully make labor go faster. Has anyone noticed a difference? Anyone else trying it?

I'm trying it! Currently taking one in the morning and one in the evening, and planned to start inserting nightly at 37 weeks (this Sunday), but based on what everyone is saying I might start now!

Also drinking 4 cups of raspberry leaf tea daily.

We'll see if any of this has done anything to help soon!

My midwife said it was unsafe and absolutely doesnt recommend it. I was really disappointed, but I guess she knows best.

I started EPO at 36 weeks with 3 of my 4
Prior pregnancies.  All my labors were less than seven hours except my second which was 13.5 hours... guess which one I didn't use it for? 😂 this is number 5 and I'm no doc but my past experiences are enough that I picked up my bottle today (36 weeks). I cleared it with midwife first just in case.

How is everyone getting on with the EPO?

I can't believe I am STILL pregnant. I hardly get any rest at night, everything hurts!! The new addition to my pains is my vagina!!! Like someone has kicked it, or like I had sex non-stop for 2 weeks, and trust me, that is so not the case! I have read a bit about it and pain in the pubis is apparently not uncommon, but it's getting worse and worse everyday. At night turning in bed hurts and after sitting down or lying down for a while, getting up makes it hurt so much! 
I sincerely hope baby comes soon, I am so done!!!

I've been taking in orally for the past 2 weeks, I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow and planning on starting to insert vaginally as I will be induced at 38 weeks if she is not here by then. Here's a dumb question though, when you insert vaginally does the casing of the capsule just dissolve like when you take it orally? Or do I need to poke a hole in it first? And then do I have to fish it back out later?

I started it at about 36w3days. Inserted 3 one night, and then the next i ingested 2 orally. Yes just 2 days. I cant swear by it, but maybe tht and the nipple stimulation is what made me start dialating. Haha. Least it got me to a 4 before i was started on Pitocin and my dr breaking my water! It does indeed help with preventing tearing and what not. I didnt tear at all! But i also had a lil 5.5 pounder 4 days ago lol.

I took it with my 1st 2 babies but no way that early!  I started at 39 weeks orally and then inserted  once on due date. I had my show that day and went into labour the next night. With my 1st I wasn't told about it till I was 41 wks 4 day and told I would be induced in 3 days. I took orally 1 day a then inserted the next I Had my show that day and went into labour the next night she was was born right on the time I was due to be induced!

I'm just uncomfortable with like ... where do you get the oil that you trust the source? I just know a lot of those things aren't regulated and when they're actually tested they contain all kinds of stuff other than they're supposed to contain and little to none of what they are supposed to be. Idk it makes me nervous

I'm going to start the EPO tomorrow & im about to turn 38 weeks on Thursday. I'm going to take them orally, twice a day & I'll take the raspberry leaf tea 3 times a day. At 39 weeks I'll take the EPO vaginally, twice a day.
