My LO had serious thrush for a month!! Yes they do have a milk coating on the tongue but the picture looks heavier than that to me. Ask your pedi! People tried to tell me it wasn't thrush, but a mothers intuition and pediatrician confirmed.

So they gave us oral nyastatin for her, and topical for me 👎🏽that didn't work!

Then fluconozole for both of us. I was on it for a month. 👎🏽didn't work.

What worked::

Gentian violet painted on my nipples at night and she would suck it off during her night feeding-- for 4 nights. It started getting better after 1st night, chunks of yeast were coming off tongue after a month of the pharmaceuticals. It is suggested to do 4 nights- and if it's working but not gone do 7, but if it's not working by 4 then stop. Also we had to do 2 rounds.

Also what worked::
I am still taking probiotics daily & grapefruit seed extract. The GSE is also a miracle. Make sure you get grapeFRUIT seed and not grape seed (made that mistake and it didn't work!)

No, but I'd suggest you have her evaluated for a tongue tie, if you're having issues with breast feeding it might be that. It looks like she might have a tie

My daughters looked like that. I was at the doctors and he had a look. He said as there was nothing in the inside of her cheeks it's not thrush. I wasn't convinced but that was 6 weeks ago now and it hasn't got worse. He said it was milk. 
I have tried to wipe it to see if it comes off but I not a chance I can get her to keep her mouth open.

How do babies get thrush? Want to prevent it at all costs as it sounds horrible!
