Important documents?

Question

Is there anything we can do ahead of time for important documents when our babies are born?
For example birth certificates and social security cards for our babies- is there something we can/need to fill out ahead of time to smooth that process out?

I'm not sure about social security card, but my hospital had us fill out a birth certificate info form when we registered ahead of time at the hospital. At the time, we didn't even know if it was a boy or girl, but they also had the form for us to fill out at the maternity suite tour if we were ready then. Maybe yours does too?
