hookups, bad or good?

Having a hookup with a guy doesn't make you like a bad person, right? I've only ever had sex with people that I've been in relationships with. And I feel like it's just a social standard that girls shouldn't have hookups. I just don't want to be labeled as anything, you know?

Most of my sexual encounters have been through hook ups. Some people have labeled me, but screw them. I'm clean and I always use protection. Now I am a strong committed relationship with the most amazing guy on the planet. We're so unbelievably happy and I think it's because I know I want to be with him. No doubt in my mind. I had a lot of time to sort out who I was. I think that it's no big deal to have casual sex as long as you're not doing it to fill some kind of hole in your life(that goes for alcohol, drugs, and food too). If you're doing it for that then you should figure out why you feel that way and focus on you.

The thing that could go wrong with hookups are... When you have sex you and him release the hormones called oxytocin and vasopressin which are bonding chemicals... It's like putting a piece of duct tape on your arm and your partners are to hold you together and when you have sex with someone else it's like you took that piece of duct tape of and wrapped that same piece of tape on the next persons arm.. It's less sticky and the more you switch partners the less you release those chemicals until you take some time apart and get things in order.

I feel like, you've gotta do what makes you happy. Everybody is going to have a different opinion on the topic. It's your life though and it's up to you to decide what you wanna do. Personally I wouldn't hook up with lots of random people because I would be afraid of getting an STD. Also, I'm the kind of person who needs an attachment or relationship to the person I hook up with. But you are you, and not me or anyone else, so your sex life lies in your hands, no matter what anyone says about it.

It depends on your beliefs. Some people may call you a sinner or a slut but it's only true if you believe it. I personally don't like hook ups because I feel a bit used afterwards but I don't think hooking up makes you a bad person. It's just sex. If you want to have casual sex go for it! If it makes you feel uncomfortable then you should probably think about it a while before doing it. Do what makes you happy. Who cares what others think!?

I don't see a problem with them. I prefer them to dating, as many people my age aren't serious enough to not cheat. It doesn't make anyone anything other than sexually active. They aren't bad people for having sex
