How's your newborn eating?

My babe is 8 days old. After my milk came in, she was nursing for about 20 minutes every 3 hours. I got so much sleep! But now she's eating for only 5-8 minutes most of the time every 1/2 hour to hour! She was also fussy last night and had me up straight from 10-2. 😩 How are you all faring??

I'm going through the same with my 6 week old. He's already hit two growth spurts. Eats every hour for at least 10minutes. Except at night he's sleeping for 2, 2&1/2 hours.

It evened out after about a month for me. I felt like just a milk machine then! Also a lot of the time when she was nursing 24/7 she was comfort sucking but not eating.

Before my milk came in he barely slept at night. Since Sunday night it has been much better. I am awaiting those growth spurts where I am up all night and day feeding.  We do have times where he falls asleep mid-feed and will wake up a short time later to eat again. Keep doing what you're doing. Good luck!

Sounds like a growth spurt!  1 week is very common. Baby is regulating your supply. Just keep feeding on demand, it usually only lasts 1-2 days. Good luck!
