Baby shower for second baby?

Would/did you have a baby shower for your second child? My first is 2 and will be 2 1/2 when this baby is born. I'm not sure if its weird or even acceptable to have a second baby shower. My cousin did but it was like a "let's celebrate this baby but not make it a big deal with gifts, just diapers" but everyone brought gifts and diapers anyway. 
I'd like to have a baby shower because they're fun but we also plan on doing a gender reveal party too. I also don't want people to feel obligated to bring gifts and stuff if we have a baby shower. I'm not sure what to do!

My daughter just turned 1 and my son is due in March. I will be having a second baby shower. Every child deserves to be celebrated!!

Would you consider having baby shower after the baby is born, the area I live in does it that way and it's a way for family and friends to also meet the addition.

In the UK most women don't have a baby shower at all. They simply have a party once the baby arrives. We're waiting until our little girl is christened at 6 months old to have a proper party. I intend to do the same with any subsequent children :)

Most people will do a mini diaper shower or simply just a gender reveal and have people bring small gifts there. So I think the gender reveal is enough but if you want a second shower and people will come there's nothing wrong with that!

My sister had a diaper luncheon on her 2nd. Everyone brought diapers and we just had a nice lunch. Nothing fancy.

I'm in the same position I don't know if I want to have another baby shower ... but maybe not I rather use that money to by baby girl things she'll need vs spending on food for ppl and prizes and stuff but at the same time I'm not sure caus with my sons I enjoyed it but I may not have one

I say go for it! A baby sprinkle is always acceptable. If you have things left over from your little one I wouldn't register and just ask that people bring diapers for a raffle.
