How to wean 6month old off of pacifier

Charlotte 🇬🇧 • Mummy to 2 beautiful little girls. Born 2016 and 2018.

My LO is 6 months old now and I'm ready for her to move to her own room. She has one night feed (which I'm happy to continue), but I'm up 8-10 times a night to re-plug the pacifier. If I dont replace it she'll get more and more worked up to the point of screaming and crying until I do. I've tried cold turkey (admittedly only for one nap), she screamed and cried like she was in pain for two hours solid before I gave in, she then took another hour of fussing before she'd calmed down enough to sleep.

I can't keep getting up when she's in her own room but I don't think I'd cope with letting her "cry it out" as she just wakes up more and wont cry herself to sleep.

Please any advice (other than CIO) on how to do it? Or do I just need to suck it up and hope she eventually puts it back herself?

Note. During the day when awake she can locate her paci and put it back in her mouth, but cannot do it at night!
