Would you travel 2 hours for Christmas at 38 weeks? (Total of 4 hours)

It totally depends on where you are traveling. I plan on taking my older kids snowboarding at 39 weeks, it's a two hour drive, but I live in rural country, where even if I'm home I'm 1 1/2 hours from a hospital. Where as, when we go skiing I'll only be 45 mins from a hospital. As long as you have close enough access to a hospital I feel like travel is fine! Not long hours of course but I don't see a problem with 2. :)

I'm glad I saw this post! I won't feel as bad when I tell my family I can't make it for Christmas. They live 2 hours away from me and 3 hours away from my hospital. I'll be 37 weeks at that time and I've been so nervous about being that far away so close to my due date.

Nope my whole family is 2 hours away and I will be 38 weeks on Christmas Day. Told them a long time ago we are staying put. I will most likely have this baby early and I do not want to have it in another town!

I'm also dealing with this. 38w at Christmas and my MIL refuses to come to us. I know it's only two hours away but considering this is my first child and our hospital is only 5 min from home, there's no way I'm going anywhere. Not to mention we live in the Midwest where it often blizzards in December. My husband is heartbroken but trying to hide it, and completely in my corner.

Personally I say better safe than sorry but if there are extenuated circumstances or you have a trusted hospital near where you are traveling, I'm sure you will be okay. Just trust your instincts and do what's best for you and your baby ❤️

Nope and I'm in that boat too. My inlaws are 1.5 hrs south and dr is 45 min north.  God forbid something happens I'd have to drive 2.5 hrs to dr at 38 weeks preggers... no thank you
