what do contractions feel like??

I know when the time comes I'll probably know what they are but for now I just don't know what to expect. What's the difference between Braxton hicks and regular contractions?? What does it feel like?? Thanks! 💕

Feels like period cramps. Time them and if it keeps happening every 7 minutes for example and getting less and less then you're in labor...... 
With my first I didn't know I was in labor. I woke up with strong cramps around 4am and I timed it and I was 7 minutes apart from 4am-7am and it started becoming 4 minutes apart by 10am when I arrived at the hospital I was already 3cm...

For me Braxton hicks felt like my belly muscles tightening so tight from the inside out. Like a huge blood pressure cuff being tightened around my belly. It would build then release over 30-60 seconds. Sometimes it was hard to breath but never painful. Whereas contractions felt like period cramps that intensified until they were just bearable.
