need advice

So my husband and I broke up in july. He got with someone right away and so did I. We have been exchanging nasty words with each other... I just found out my mom has cancer and all I want to do is talk to him. The person he got with leftnhima don I left the person I was with. All I wanna do is talk to my husband and try and make us work... any advice on what I should do???
