Car seat base?

About to be 36 weeks. Should I get the car seat base in the car soon? Should I just wait until I'm in definite labor? When did you put your car seat base and hospital bags in the car? I think the car seat itself will go in last!

We'll be putting in the base next weekend when I'm 37w. The bags are packed but don't think they will go into the car until it's go-time.

I recently switched my son to forward facing last week and so when I did that I had my husband put in the base at the same time. I would just do it if you have time then you won't have to worry about it.

I was going to put the base and car seat in this weekend. Ill be 36 weeks and we will be having little man come 39 weeks since ill be induced, although my ma says hes going to stay in there for a week. Even though ill be induced.

You can install it whenever but mind you if you get into even a minor fender bender you're supposed to purchase a new car seat. Lady I worked with was rear ended at 35 weeks and had the car seat in the back, never used and had to replace it.

I'll be in the hospital 3 or 4 days so we decided there's still time for seat base

Get it now. I went early and didn't have mine installed. It was just added stress to worry with the car seat/base after the fact.
