Hiccups and spit up?

5 days PP. Milk is in and baby eats hood for about 20 mins. I try and burp him, sometimes he will..sometimes he won't. About 10 mins later he usually gets the hiccups and spits up a decent amount of milk. Any ways to stop this? I know not laying him down will help but getting into a night time schedule of diaper change, eatting, burp and back to sleep kinda prevents that lol. Thanks ladies!
