Demanding job

I am so heartbroken. My fiancé just called me to tell me he may not be able to make it home for thanksgiving this year. He is working 9 hours away and is of the day of but it'll be almost impossible to come home and drive back the same day. It's our first year hosting at our new home and everyone was so excited. This isn't the first time he's missed an important holiday. Am I wrong for being upset?
