long distance promposal?

i want to do some kind of photo/texting or snapchat or something "promposal" for my boyfriend. we're 700 miles away but i still think it would be cute to post for our friends and stuff so everyone knows he's going to visit in April and whatnot. he knows he's coming for prom but i still want to ask him in a cute way that is screenshotable... is it a stupid idea? be honest. no hard feelings haha , also if you have ideas for how let me know. 
ps: i won't see him until he gets here prom weekend

No its not a stupid idea! I think its a cute idea! There are so many ways that you could do it...what are some things that he likes? And you could incorporate those ideas...like my friend Taylor asked her boyfriend by using a basketball because he enjoys playing...and she said Do I have a shot at going to homecoming with you? It could be so simple
