What are people's thoughts about a glass of wine with dinner during 2ww? I am hearing so many mixed things

No doctor will admit this because it's considered taboo to say anything to pregnant/potentially pregnant women about drinking other than "there is no amount of alcohol that has been proven safe at any stage during pregnancy". Obstetricians have some of  the highest malpractice insurance fees because they get sued for any problem during a pregnancy. The FDA will never approve a study of when and how much alcohol a pregnant woman can drink because at some point, it's exposing children to fetal alcohol syndrome.

With that said: until the blastocyst implants, it's a free floating blob of cells that's not connected to your body. After it implants, it settles into the uterine lining which is already there and is not a part of your circulating blood supply. The placenta connects the embryo/fetus to your blood supply and takes over hormone production at 12 but sometimes as early as 9 weeks.

Now, I can't tell you what to do. However, in your place I would be completely comfortable having a glass or two of wine.

Until you're pregnant I wouldn't worry about it. You'll never enjoy a drink otherwise! I don't understand what harm it can do in the 2ww?!

My doctor told me I could drink until I got my BFP. I was not drinking during TWW before and he said it was probably causing me anxiety/stress. The month I stopped doing that, I got my BFP

I'd say drink until you find out you're pregnant ..my husband and I drank last night and my cycle is due in 6 days..I usually wait to drink until my cycle shows up just to be safe but for some reason I have mixed emotions and feel like we didn't conceive this month anyways so I just went for it .

The embryo doesn't share your blood supply until after the placenta forms. If you are tracking, you'll be taking a test long before alcohol could reach the embryo.

If you did conceive you don't share blood until 5/6 weeks once the placenta is formed. I wouldn't go crazy but a glass of wine is completely fine!

Imagine this scenario: you drink a few drinks during your TWW, have a great pregnancy, healthy ultrasounds and heart beat and then your child is born with a heart defect that went undetected until she was born, and resulted in heart surgery at two weeks old. 
For me: I wouldn't risk it even though there are plenty of healthy babies born whose mothers have had a glass or two of wine. Even though it may not have caused the defect, I would still blame myself.
