is this normal?

My one week old will go 4-5 hours between feeding she will just sleep right through it and won't wake up for anything! Has anyone else had this happen with their babies? Is it normal?

My pediatrician said that until my little girl was back at her birth weight that we needed to be waking her from her sleep.

My Dr said until they are back to their birth weight that I should not let them sleep more than 3 hours at a time. I had an appt today and he is 3 oz away and Dr told me he seems like he is gaining fine and I should let him sleep as much as he wants at night, but to still wake him up during the day to eat.

My midwife told me not to let my little one go more than 3 hours without feeding at that age. But she was only 5lb 3oz when she was born so it was all about keeping her blood sugars up...not sure if it's different for different sized babies.....

is this normal?
