2 months pp on & off

So I stopped bleeding exactly at 6 weeks pp but then I started bleeding again 10 days later it was heavy and bright red so I called the nurse and they said it was normal that it could be my period keep in mind I am EBF (I heard you don't get a period) but some do I suppose so that lasted 6 days but I wasn't sure if it was my period..after that I didn't bleed anymore until recently me and my SO had sex on Wednesday night (protected) and we noticed slight bleeding but didn't think anything of it but since then I haven't stopped bleeding it's light dark red bleeding it's not heavy it's moderate and I feel fine but has anyone else experienced this? Should I make a doctors appointment?
