Maternit21 and Harmony Testing?

I'm thinking of having the Maternit21 or Harmony test that check for Down syndrome and sex of baby.

I am under my mother's insurance and she has Federal BlueCross Blueshield. Anyone with this insurance, have to pay extra or does it cover it.

I am 23 and I am not high risk. I am currently 10 weeks.

We did the progenity test and our Dr office told me it is never more than $100 regardless of whether insurance pays or not. I think pricing depends a lot on which lab is doing the testing.  I'd call your insurance company and then call the various labs to find out the cost. They'll be able to tell you.

Most insurer won't pay it unless your high risk. I had one of those done with my daughter (not high risk) and we ended up paying 1200 out of pocket.
