Engorged breast! pain relief ?

What do you to to help the pain of engorged breast. My milk just came in and it's very painful. Any tips?

You can pump but only pump till you feel a bit better, don't pump till your breasts are empty.

Ice your breasts after you nurse to help reduce swelling.  You can pump a little bit, just to relieve pressure before nursing.  Warm compresses before nursing will help the milk get flowing.

I run hot water onto a hand towel and use it to hand express for a couple minutes. Helps soften the breast so LO can latch better.

Green cabbage leaves may be used chilled or at room temperature. Wash cabbage leaves and apply to breasts.
