amniocentesis test?

Has anyone had a amniocentesis test?

I've been having a few problems and via MRI scan I've found out my baby only has one lung, the left lung hasn't developed for some reason. I've been offered a amniocentesis test to check for Down's syndrome incase that's the problem. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and devastated about this situation 😔

I had one at 23 weeks because it was believed my daughter had trisomy 18 or Down syndrome due to the fact she has an omphalocele and her arms didn't develop all the way. 3 long weeks later I received my results and she doesn't have Down syndrome or 18.! Just a few physical barriers we will overcome 💕 my baby was fine no miscarriage but I know how scary it can be. I was terrified for weeks. Here for you , love 💕

I've had one! At 20 weeks with my first! He had a rare heart defect (Heterotaxy syndrome) but showed he had no Down syndrome or anything. He ended up being stillborn 😔 at 21 weeks now I'm pregnant with his little sister or brother.

I had one at my 20 week ultrasound because She has an echo on her heart and they were checking for Down Syndrome as well. I would do the test if you are someone who worries otherwise you might worry your whole pregnancy if you don't get it done. It doesn't hurt, and you're far enough along that it shouldn't affect anything. They can also test for any other defects as well with the test. It's just the waiting that can be scary.
