itchy vagina

so my vagina started to itch a little last night, i didn't think much of it until i woke up this morning and it was SO itchy. it's mostly itchy right by my vagina hole and inside of it. my vagina smells fine, no weird discharge or anything... i just put some vagisil cream on it but it's not working too well. i'm thinking about getting a monistat as well.... what do you think this could be? bacterial vaginosis??? help!!!
