how safe is dying hair?

Hey guys, sorry I know it's been asked before but I have never looked into it cos I was going to leave it but it's starting to look feral!! It's been 4 months already.... Does anyone know how safe it is? If it's risky at all I'd rather just wait. Not worth harming bubba! TIA

As per my obgyn -" dying hair and doing nails are 100% safe at any time during pregnancy,  provided that u are in a well ventilated area and not inhaling the fumes. .

I've been dying my hair throughout my entire pregnancy. I duednitnat 4 weeks and everything is fine.

As long as you're in a well ventilated area you're fine. They also make ammonia free hair dye which is safer because less fumes, the revlon color silk is what I use and it's super cheap

My research indicated that it's optional to wait until the 2nd trimester to dye your hair, mainly because *some* amount of chemicals do get absorbed by your scalp (foils/highlighting with a cap is safer).  Since I am older this time around (34) I'm just extra precautious I think.

I think it depends on the brand because some have stronger chemicals than others. Maybe read the labels? I dyed my hair twice during pregnancy ☺
