Rooms?

Question

I currently have a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy. We just found out we're expecting boy/girl twins! How should we set up rooms?!

At the moment, my son and daughter have their own room. And we also have our guest room available. Would you put the boys/girls together? Or the twins together?

I can't decide because I'm a HUGE decorator! And I can't decide on a boy/girl nursery. :/

I'd probably put the twins together until they get out of the constant diaper change/feeding pattern and then split them into boys in a room and girls in a room just to let the older kids sleep better those early years. If you are going to be up at night a lot with the new babies it makes sense for them to just be in the same room.

I would just put the twins together. They'll grow up to be close and will probably want to be in the same room with each other when they're older too.

I would put the twins together until they bitch about sharing a room with the opposite sex (maybe 7 or 8).

The new recommendations for SIDS is to have the babies sleep in your room. But I would use the guest room as the nursery and keep the twins together. You don't want the babies to wake the other kids at night. And you don't want the older children to have any resentment having to give up having their own rooms.
