Itchy/ smelly belly button. is it normal?

Hello everyone. I am 34weeks pregnant. Recently my belly buttons been very itchy and smelly. I knew I had a deep navel and had issues like discharge from there when I clean it with cotton buds. But now I'm a bit worried. Does anyone else have this problem?

Mine was itchy and sensitive around 35-36 weeks.  My OB said it was normal and caused by my stomach stretching.  Discharge, though, I didn't have-- best to ask your OB or midwife, I think.  I imagine they'll probably give you a topical cream and it'll clear right up.

Discharge & odor are signs of infection..I would get it looked at ASAP infection especially so late in pregnancy can cause preterm labor

It's probably just body odor. Your belly button is like you arm pits or your feet. I suggest gently clean with soap and water. If you really want to, use a little rubbing alcohol on a swab. As for discharge, make sure you have no sores or the like from cleaning it that could be infected.

Is it pierced??? 
Mine has been doing that because it's pierced, and the stretching of my belly made it get irritated and drain. 
Anyhow, I just clean it with ivory soap, make sure I dry it out completely then put baby powder in it to avoid sweating and itll stay away until my next shower.
