How long did it take till you started getting your life together?

I just want to get my shit together as much as possible so I can move out soon-- and it's like impossible finding a job

How long did it take you guys' before you were able to move out and least start your adult lives?

Hahaha no body truly has it all together.  You grow up and do things for yourself because no one else will. You work,  you save,  you strive toward a better future and life lines up obstacles inspite or despite all of your efforts.  My advice...  Save.  Save.  Save.  Save for a down payment on a house.  Then focus on your passion with everything you have.

19. I joined the Air Force as a medic and got my independence from there. Now I'm going to be 23, married with a son, and soon a Staff Sergeant. The Air Force also helped me pay for college and my civilian license for my job in the military.

Sometimes you have to pick a job that isn't perfect to get started. I worked 2 jobs while going to college to have a job I can say I worked hard for enjoy. I feel like I am finally getting it together. I am 31, married almost 9 years. Paying for my student loans but have been pretty independent since college. Sometimes I have had to say no to things I couldn't afford before. What are your goals? Where do you want to be in 2 years? 5 years? I set a goal and took steps to achieve it. Find people who will help support and encourage you along the way.

Girl I'm 26 and still feel like my life isn't together. I'd say the worse for me is I left a job because of the stress and weight loss. Now all I can get is min wage paying jobs and it stresses me to the max. I don't have to work but love to help provide.

Yes KC is right! But if you want as bad you have to have a plan and just stick to it! Everything will all into place. I was 19 leaving on my own had money saved up about 3000 and car. But once I got pregnant I moved back in with my mom and she helped me. But I chose to because I wanted more so now I'm in school for nursing and it's like I'm starting from scratch. So map out what you want and work towards it and everything will fall into you will have obstacles though

I've been working since I was 15, went to college and after college couldn't find a decent paying job. I worked childcare for 8 years and loved it but it didn't make enough to allow me to move out.  I left there and got a position in HR.  Got officially together with my now husband who has had his stuff together since her was 25. We are now feeling stable at the ages of 32 and 33.   It can take some time. You just have to start small and work hard to get what you want.

I'm 41 now, but I started working at 15 (younger if you count babysitting), but got a "real job" in an office at 18. By the time I was 20 I had my own apartment and drove a brand new Honda Accord. My parents never coddled me or helped me financially, if I wanted something I worked to make it happen. They provided the basics, but never gave me an allowance or even lunch money, and we weren't poor. They were good parents, but kind of dicks about a lot of things. It just made me more resourceful and driven to get out on my own.
