Im thinking of getting ready to use formula for the first couple nights until my wic appt.

My daughter was on similac advance she didn't do so good on that, made her very gassy constipated so switched her to similac sensitive & that didn't work out either. So finally I tried gerber goodstart gentle & it did wonders!

Hopefully the hospital will give you a couple cases of newborn ready to feed bottles when you go home. But I'd definitely recommend buying some too, they go through them quick. Try to find out what formula your hospital uses and buy that if possible.

I breastfed but supplemented for two weeks after we got out the hospital. My niece and nephew both were formula-fed. All three (even our two-week stint) had to switch a couple times before finding something that agreed with them best. Niece and nephew are on Alimentum and my daughter was on prescription-only predigested stuff. It was so expensive and I've forgotten the name. Must have blocked it out from the sheer horror, lol. If you are planning on formula feeding be sure to sign-up for the formula brands pregnancy/baby programs. They send samples and goodies and your hospital will likely give you something. It would be nice for you to have on hand until your appt. Our pediatric group is also good about providing samples.

What's your question? Is it okay to use? What kind to buy? I switched to formula at 3 months. We use Enfamil but our WIC only supplies Similac. I would stick with whatever brand your WIC office gives you. Start with the original iron based formula and pray it works for your LO. Mine uses a special formula and it's double the cost of the reg kind :(
