Should just be married

So me and my fiance have been in a long term relationship for the last 16 years but in between we split up for three years. In that time he did have a child with a previous. Since we have been back together everything seems fine but still no marriage. I let it go but lately I've been wanting it again. His excuse is that I get upset over little things and financially we must be ready for marriage. If this determines my marriage I guess I'll never get married. That's like saying we must be financially ready for children, that's almost impossible. I need help ladies, what should I think. Sometimes I just want to walk away but my kids keep me from going when just look at their faces..so hard!
