My first membrane sweep wasn't successful, but second one was. Had it on October 24th and the 25th my water broke.

Yes, but I was past 40 weeks both times (2 of my 3 pregnancies).

I was already having pretty intense contractions but was only 1 cm dialated, though I think my baby shifting positions had more to do with it than the membranes sweep.
