City Jogger Mini GT momma's - what do you do about limited storage space?

I have a JuJuBe BFF and a Louis Vuitton GM I interchange as diaper bags. Neither fit in the storage compartment of the GT Mini and it's getting really annoying. I know the handle says not to hang stuff from the handles, but I'm wondering what other mommies did regarding this? Did you get a smaller bag? Do you carry your bag (this is what I've been doing and it's really annoying)? Do you hang it anyway and just make sure it's not too heavy?
