can I mix medications?

I'm currently taking XL-3 for cough and cold. I just started my period and I'm cramping and i usually take ibuprofen for cramps. Would it be bad to take the ibuprofen while I'm taking pills for my cold?

Depends what the cold medicine has in it. It's normally paracetamol but sometimes ibuprofen. Look at the ingredients. You can take  two paracetamol and two ibuprofen two hours apart, so alternate them every two hours. Or if the cold medicine has paracetamol in you can take one cold tablet and one ibuprofen at the same time.
